2020 already. close to 5 years.

Some things change, some remain the same.

I've ticked over 56.  Still riding but finding it harder to find time and energy.

Lets see if I can do some catch up or if I remember to do it at all.

Lucas HBR is 8 and has a little sister, Nina HBR 3.5.  Mrs HBR is doing well and getting a little riding time.

Lucas HBR rides really quite well, has about 5 bikes and although complains to start does enjoy riding of road.  He started BMX and lasted about 12 months, probably less..  liked to go to gates but no so much the training. We dropped that last winter I guess, no point pushing him along if he wasn't interested in trying. He stepped up a class and didn't like racing at the rear.

Here is a funny note:  Lots of age type catagories base on the year of birth... fair enough..  eg, BMX races from mid Jan until end November.  Lucas has a birthday in late December so turned 8 weeks after the last race of the year.   New year rolls around and he has to move up to race against 9 year olds for the season, I think that's Under 10's.  I am finding this fairly common now but never really put much thought into it.  It doesn't start to benifit himuntil he is competing over 45 year old I think.

Lucas HBR competed in TWO classes at last years Bayview Blast.  He rides will but needs to work on race craft.  He rode under 10's and under 13's.  Of course he was swamped in the higher class but he had a good time.

Nina HBR is closing in on 4, struggles with the balance bike but can ride with trainer wheels. I feel she is still a little way off droping them yet, still struggling with pedalling.

Nina will enter her FIRST mountain bike kids race in a few weeks, she has watched Lucas and Mum ride and is all keen.  I have to de-pedal the 12" bike to convert to balance bike for her.

Mrs HBR works for a major player in the cycling fitness area as a firmware design engineer.  We have some good product knowlege and experience.

I will finish this one here and go look at other stuff around my edges.

See if I can find some photos to retro this or use next time and maybe play some catch up.
